
First some cautions:
Recently separated or divorced:
Seek legal advice before leaving out a separated spouse unless the separation or divorce took place long ago and there is no ongoing obligation to support a former spouse. A self done will is not a good choice if this is your intention.
Not treating your children equally:
Get legal advice. Courts commonly interfere with wills where a deceased person fails to give a good reason to disinherit a child. Litigation over your property wastes it and can create family disagreements. Just because you think your reason is good does not mean a judge will agree.
